Assistant Production Manager

Emursive, the producing company behind the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More, Gallow Green, Manderley Bar, and The Club Car is seeking an Assistant Production Manager for a new project. The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Production and the Associate Production Manager in all of their roles and responsibilities and duties as assigned in managing all aspects of a new production within a new venue during the preparation, rehearsal, and technical rehearsal time periods. The Assistant Production Manager will maintain a safe and functional workspace while remaining in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

We are seeking someone who is a true self-starter, a multi-tasker, and someone able to prioritize responsibilities. Candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, possess and exhibit empathy, exude a good sense of humor, and a track record of on-their-feet problem solving. Candidates must be proactive and possess clear communication skills and the ability to be a team player.

Responsibilities:
-Act as a second in command where necessary and in other situations as a physical proxy.
-Maintain a consistent presence on behalf of the Production Management team, interfacing with construction subcontractors and tradesmen, ensuring the construction project is maintaining its schedule and is in line with the intended integrity of the Production.
-Assist in oversight of load-in of all production elements including but not limited to scenery, audio, lighting, video, props, dressing and costumes, in conjunction with team leads.
-During tech and previews, stagger schedules with the Production Management team and be able to run crews outside of working rehearsals and performing hours.
-Provide consistent on-the-ground presence for the build on behalf of Production Management.
-Take notes for all production meetings.
-Assist in the maintenance of detailed production budgets, including physical production and labor, for each department.
-Assist in the creation and maintenance of production calendars.
-Creatively engage and partner with design and production teams to meet budget goals and deadlines while maintaining design integrity, production quality, and safety
-Coordinate with Production Management team, Director, Experience Director, and Production Stage Manager etc for build schedules, rehearsal schedules, and various other use of spaces.
-Assists with hands-on production tasks as needed and as skill set allows.
-Act as an all-purpose runner as needed for the Production Management team during the build, running project-specific errands, conducting vendor visits, procuring samples, etc.
-In consultation with the Director and Assistant Director of Production and Associate Production Manager, make and approve purchases and within the pre-approved budgets.
-Provide management oversight in the space from load-in through opening as requested by Director and Assistant Director of Production and Associate Production Manager.
-Additional tasks, as assigned.
-Position requires some evening and weekend hours – particularly during load-in, rehearsal, and tech.

Qualifications:
-Associate of Arts or BFA in Technical Theatre or related field or equivalent experience.
-2+ years of professional experience
-Ability to read stage lighting plots, wiring diagrams and other technical drawings.
-Demonstrate strong collaborative, communication, and technical skills
-Demonstrate a willingness to maintain high standards for a quality, safe, and supportive work environment
-Demonstrate a strong sense of self-efficiency and organization
-Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and efficiency when working under pressure, time constraints, dim lighting, show volume, and in view of audience members.

Environmental Factors:
*Can complete responsibilities and duties under the following conditions, when working in show conditions*
-Strobing lights
-Continuous, large quantities of haze
-Minimal to no lighting
-Spaces which contain large amounts of dust & uneven flooring
-Required half-masks worn by all employees during performance
-Numerous trips up and down six floors, unaided by the elevator

Rate:
$30/hr; Expected 40 hours/week
