Emursive Productions, the producing company behind the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More, Gallow Green, Manderley Bar, and The Club Car is seeking a Lead Audio Engineer/Audio Supervisor to work on a new production. To support and execute the artistic vision of the Sound Design of a new Emursive project as it relates to all audio elements. The Lead Audio Engineer/Audio Supervisor will work with the Audio System Designer, Sound Designer, and Project Manager in the acquisition and installation of the audio system and all audio elements and the organization of labor of Audio Engineers. The Lead Audio Engineer/Audio Supervisor is responsible for advancing the sound design and installation for the production and in leading the Audio Team. The Lead Audio Engineer/Audio Supervisor will work closely with the Master Electrician/Lighting Supervisor to ensure successful and sustainable operation of technical production elements. The Lead Audio Engineer/Audio Supervisor will maintain a safe and functional workspace, oversee tool maintenance, and respond to notes as they arise while remaining in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:
-In collaboration with Audio System Designer, translate designer’s drafting and scope into the final installed sound system.
-Collaborate with the Audio System Designer and Project Manager to project budgetary needs for sound elements.
-Maintain audio budgets, purchasing, and equipment.
-Assist in organization, and maintenance of audio shop equipment and promote shop safety.
-Assign and guide Audio Engineers through projects and proper procedures.
-Ensure a safe working environment at all times, and will report any unsafe conditions or behavior to Production Management.
-Inventory and request restocking of all relevant materials as needed.
-Develop long term procedures for audio system maintenance and sourcing for extended show run.
-Create and maintain paperwork and bible of all audio elements.
-Maintain and service all shop tools and equipment, and arrange for professional maintenance and repairs of all tools beyond the reasonable scope of the individual.
-Be independent, have an excellent attitude, and a passion for storytelling in immersive environments.
Qualifications:
– 2+ years of professional experience
– Associate of Arts or BFA in Technical Theatre or related field or equivalent experience.
– Understanding of Dante systems
– Basic knowledge of Qlab operations
– A strong understanding of industry standards for audio applications
– A strong understanding of audio signal flow and routing in digital and analog applications
– A basic understanding and willingness to explore networking concepts (as applied in audio, lighting, show control, and otherwise)
– Have a basic understanding of power distribution in theatrical applications
– Have a basic understanding of musical instrument equipment (i.e. changing and tuning drum heads, changing guitar tubes, etc)
– Demonstrate strong leadership, self-sufficiency, organization, and interdepartmental cooperation
– Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of supplies, etc., up to 50 lbs., as well as occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
– Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a high paced setting
– Strong verbal communication skills; great attention to detail; adaptable and calm under pressure; proactive self starter

Environmental Factors:

Contract Length:
Contracts begin August 12th and range from 23 – 8 weeks in length.
Rate:
$45/hr, Expected 40 hrs/wk
